I decided to go in set direction with the content for my blog.  This blog will utilized for arts & culture genre, but namely music. Since music is my first LOVE I will present the music and music artists that I love.  Just like me this blog will be mulitfaceted.  Not only will I showcase various songs but I will include commentary and background on the artist, videos, and album information. As I have been in and around the  so-called conscious community  I have learned many aspects of African culture.  But it seems that we have yet to come up with OUR own definition of beauty.  Is the African aesthetic something to be ignored or do some feel that it is of little importance in the process of re-Africanization? As an African woman I feel this aspect of OUR collective African experience in the continent and the diaspora NEED to be expressed.  It has been and will always be an element of African culture as well as self expression that is truly an artform.
